Travelers in a Tropical Landscape

Louis Rémy Mignot traveled to Ecuador with fellow artist Frederic Edwin Church in 1857, and painted scenes of South America for years following the expedition. The exotic arrangement of bright, fiery color and light conveys the powerful impression the Andean landscape made on Mignot.
