Purple/Amber Sliced Descending Form

To achieve arching ribbons of color, Harvey K. Littleton developed a process for blowing glass in a studio rather than in a factory. This breakthrough sparked a period of rich experimentation that paved the way for innumerable studio glass artists. Littleton mused, “What that glass will be who knows? We don’t care. We just know that they will have the opportunity to go on with it. The world is their oyster, you know. We’ve broken the trail for a lot of them.”
