People’s Meeting
Charles Keller, a self-proclaimed skeptic of patriotism, used color to alter the US flag in People’s Meeting. His yellow layer of ink, most noticeable in the dress, suggests ripples in the fabric of the starless flag. While the scene appears mundane, Keller was acutely aware of the need for civil organization in the US during World War II.
