Yield

Yield’s polished surface reflects and contrasts with the surrounding landscape, which varies with the season, weather, and time of day. During summer months, the barren tree stands in stark contrast to its surroundings, and in winter the sculpture’s form echoes the leafless trees of the forest. Yield is from Roxy Paine’s Dendroid series: works that draw connections between nature and machines through the process of creating branch-like forms with welded and polished stainless steel.
