Leaf type: The narrow, thread-like leaves are light green in summer and turn golden yellow in fall which makes this a plant with three seasons of interest.

Bloom description: The small, light-blue flowers take the shape of stars, giving this plant its common name, Bluestar.

Garden uses: Best used in a mass planting or as a border plant. The light texture of this perennial can soften up a home if used as a foundation planting as well.

Wildlife benefits: Blooms are frequented by many species of native pollinators.
